OOPS

OK OK I SUCK. I was busy. I got a job at a bakery and I have just been kind of hating the internet lately. I don't think I'm gonna really do lookbook anymore, maybe once a month?? It gets too petty and annoying.  I'll still be sharing my wardrobe on here, but probably mostly my art/photography. So yeah. Whatever. Here's some of my latest work.

This one is a gift for my sister for Christmas. She'd been begging me for so long, and it was super fun to paint, actually.

Also, I opened up a little store called Lola Lola and it's basically just some of my clothes that I've only worn a few times. Everything's cheap so check it out!

CLEARING SPACE; CLEAN VIBES

It's hard to say goodbye, but sometimes we have to.

Recently, I threw away a good amount of my paintings. A couple nights ago, Eden and I got to talking about our art. I complained about some of the pieces I was unhappy with, but still had in my possession. I had planned to sand them down and repaint them, but I honestly hate doing that. There's something about starting on a fresh, blank canvas that makes an art piece all it's own. It's like when you try painting over an old piece, the energy of the old painting is still there. The vibes combine and spoil the new painting. I don't know if anyone else ever feels this way, but that's the way I feel about it.

Eden told me I should throw some of the old ones away. I was a little in shock and taken aback by the suggestion. She said she'd done it and how much better it had made her feel. So, I took her advice and threw a bunch out (I recycled don't worry, so it wasn't sooo tremendously wasteful).

Sometimes you've gotta clear space and make room for new, great things. Out with the old, in with the new! You could probably put me in the category of a hoarder, so, believe me, it's hard for me to toss things out, but I always feel so much better after I do.

I have to force myself to do the same with my clothes and everything else every once in a while. It's good for you, I promise!

Thought I'd share some of the pieces I did keep, though.

DEVON

Good things have been heading my way lately.

I found a job at a restaurant/bakery! My orientation should be pretty soon. So stoked about it.

It was my first time voting yesterday, and I'm EXTREMELY happy about the election results. Four more years! Plus, for my fellow Californians, Prop. 30 passed!

ALSO, I have been looking for a dark purple lipstick that doesn't wash me out completely and BY GEORGE, I'VE DONE IT. It was so meant to be. On sale for 3 bucks at Sephora!

Despite my not-so-cheery disposition, I promise I'm smiling on the inside.

Suburban Slouch

Lately, my mind is somewhere else entirely.
It's definitely not here with me in the suburbs. I've been dreaming up cartoons and thinking about art schools in LA and Pasadena. I can't wait to escape this place. It's just so....suburban.

At least, I have a reason to listen Arcade Fire's The Suburbs on repeat all the time.

⌚⌚⌚

It's time for me to stop slouching, get my sh** together nd get outta here.
